The city of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, home of MyYeshiva, is officially on the map: The Tanya has been printed in the city!
In 1984, the Rebbe initiated a campaign that the Tanya should be printed in every city with a Jewish population. Since that time over 5,500 editions of the Tanya have been printed in dozens of countries and hundreds of cities on every continent.
The Cottage Grove Tanya is officially the 5,517th edition, and it was printed at a print house within a few blocks of the yeshiva.
“The Rebbe said that it is a most worthwhile project to print Tanyas in every place that has a Jewish population. When a Jew sees that it is an edition that has been printed in his city, in his town, he will be more enthusiastic about studying it. "We look forward to seeing the effects right away with all our talmidim,” said Rabbi Yosef Eizicovics, Mashgiach at MyYeshiva.
When the printing was completed, the principal Rabbi Chayim Friedman and the bochurim learned a perek from the still warm pages of the new Tanyas.
The names of all the bochurim and staff of MyYeshiva, since its inception in 5766, are recorded in the Cottage Grove Tanya.
The Tanya was printing L’Iluy Nishmas Pesha Leah A”H bas R’ Chaim Leibel Sheyichyeh Azoulay (Roetter).
